An outstanding living experience on the water

Davy & Ørsted is proud to present the D&Ø Houseboats, a testament to Dutch Design and a new chapter in aquatic living. Designed by Studio Piet Boon, the D&Ø Houseboats offer an outstanding living experience on the water with innovative design, functionality and extraordinary comfort

With the growing demand for houseboats that offer a blend of recreation and living, D&Ø houseboats provide tranquillity, closeness to nature and an off-grid lifestyle without the constraints of a permanent residence or fixed location.

The freedom of water meets the comfort of home

According to Piet Boon, founder of Studio Piet Boon: “Each design bears our signature love for quality, elegance and innovation. Every detail caters to and elevated living experience”. The ecoconscious ethos of the D&Ø Houseboats prepares for a sustainable future. Powered by the sun, these vessels are a sanctuary on the water, featuring repurposed materials, electric propulsion and self-sufficient water systems that redefine what it means to live off-grid responsibly.

"Our houseboats extend beyond living accommodation; they provide an exceptional escape, connecting you with the serene beauty of nature," says Theo Pauw, founder & marketing manager of D&Ø Houseboats. "Designed for leisure, remote work or living, our houseboats promise an unparalleled experience where the freedom of the water meets comfort of home.”

"At Davy & Ørsted, we honour the innovative heritage of aluminium pioneers Sir Humphry Davy and Hans Christian Ørsted, the literal foundation of our houseboats," says Tim Klijn, founder & product development at D&Ø Houseboats. "Constructed with recycled aluminium, in a cradle-to-cradle approach, we pay homage to these pioneers while prioritizing sustainability."

The design approach on water

The approach of Studio Piet Boon to the D&Ø Houseboats design is one of balance—unifying the functionality of a recreational vessel with the fluid beauty of a seafaring object. Gentle curves and architectural finesse combine to create a silhouette that exudes both strength and grace. The design philosophy is one of integration and harmony, where soft lines and thoughtful proportions offer a serene living experience on the water.
